 Mario Vedrich receives Platinum Leadership Award
The Platinum Leadership Award and Certificate This is the highest national award that can be given by the association. The volunteer receiving it shall have demonstrated meritorious service and made a significant contribution to SCORE.
Mario Vedrich has exemplified the true spirit of the SCORE Volunteer through his years of service to the business community of the city of Tucson. After serving in the role as Chairman of the Chapter, Mario has remained active in chapter leadership and has challenged us to keep active and vibrant and to remain current in today's business environment. Mario has been the driving force behind the very successful Workshop and Seminar programs, in encouraging new generations of SCORE through his active mentoring of volunteers, and has made contributions to new and existing small businesses by calling on his many years of business experience and wisdom. SCORE, Southern Arizona is fortunate to have such a volunteer.
Mario’s background includes Marketing, Sales and General Management, both domestic and international, in the medical and dental products industry. He specializes in small business startups and turnarounds. As an adjunct to his primary career focus, he also served as Director of Franchise Sales for Burger King. Mario has a proven track record with small business and large multi-national corporations where he consistently exceeded profit goals. As International Vice President of the medical products division (Corometrics Medical Systems) of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, he developed distribution in 73 countries. His career started as a research biologist at the Stanford Research Institute where he was a Project Supervisor involved in screening potential cancer inhibitors.
Mario continues to assist clients in developing business plans as well as counseling startups and existing business owners with problems or those wishing to expand. He also participates in SCORE’s workshop programs as a seminar leader and lecturer.
